Name: Izumi Nakajima
Country: Japan
Major: Recording Arts Technology
Izumi decided Citrus was her college after meeting Mr. Coe during a Zoom event showcasing community colleges. The robust music program and excellent representation by the ISC staff led Izumi to choose Citrus. Since beginning her studies, Izumi got involved with the production of Global Grooves, an event that has quickly become our largest event of the year. Izumi plans to take advantage of OPT after graduation to gain work experience in the US music industry. When asked about Citrus College, she said, “I recommend Citrus College to anyone who wants to get serious about music!” We are so proud to have Izumi on campus.
Thank you for choosing Citrus!
The end of fall 2023 is in sight with Finals beginning December 11. Remember that December is a short month on campus and we will be closed starting on Thursday, December 21 until January 2, 2024. Last month was huge for the ISC with Global Grooves Volume 3 held in the Campus Center. Volume 3 was the largest ISC event in recent history and we are so proud of the excellent organization of the event by the student organizers. The entire event was live streamed over Instagram for followers of gg_citruscollege. The event has been archived and is currently viewable on the gg_citruscollege Instagram page. We can’t wait for Volume 4!
The ISC Lounge is covered in festive cheer, including a massive tree complete with twinkling lights and Christmas décor for the holiday season. On Friday, December 15th from 12pm – 4pm, the ISC lounge will be alive with song and cheer as we host the annual ISC Holiday Karaoke Party. Please join us, enjoy a pizza lunch, and sing your favorite songs, whether they are holiday themed or not, and build gingerbread houses to celebrate the holidays, the end of the Fall semester, and welcome the new year all in one afternoon. We wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful winter break!
Citrus College Football takes home another title! The Citrus College Owls Football team completed their season in late November by earning the title of Western State Bowl Champions after defeating College of the Canyons 42-13. We are so proud of our student athletes and their accomplishments. Owls Football ended the year with a 8-3 season record. This is the second year in a row that Citrus College has competed in and won the Western State Bowl. Go Owls!
