April 2024
Name: Enkhjin Erdenebayar
Country: Mongolia
Major: Economics
Enkhjin transferred to Citrus from Seattle this Spring. She decided on Citrus based on the recommendation of her cousin and because Citrus offered her preferred major, economics. The right major was very important for Enkhjin. She has always been inspired by the social sciences as her grandfather is an economist and she now wishes to follow in his footsteps. Additionally, Citrus also offers great social activities like the ISC Nature Walk as well as excellent academics and guidance. Enkhjin mentioned her “Transfer Preparation” Class with Professor Raul Sanchez as a huge help in her planning process. She hopes to attend Yale after Citrus and any assistance in reaching that goal is appreciated.
Welcome to Citrus Enkhjin!
ISC News
The Spring weather has finally arrived in Glendora. To celebrate the changing of the season, we recently held our annual ISC Nature Walk. This year, we went to Millard Falls and experienced the picturesque waterfall there. The ISC also went global last month with our partners at Education USA. The Dean of Enrollment Services, Gerald Sequeira, traveled to Hong Kong, The Philippines, and Thailand for the EducationUSA recruitment events. Additionally, the ISC Supervisor, Coe Lamoureux, attended similar events in Japan and Korea. They were so excited to meet with all the wonderful students during these events. We hope to see some of you again soon!
California Community Colleges Chancellor visits Citrus!
The California Community Colleges (CCC) Chancellor visited Citrus! Sonya Christian is the first woman and first person of South Asian descent to lead what is the nation’s largest system of higher education, serving 1.9 million students. On March 19th, Chancellor, Sonya Christian, spoke at Citrus College. Interestingly, she started her journey in the US as an international student! She started her career with the CCCs at Citrus College as an adjunct professor in the Math department, eventually moving up to president of Bakersfield College, then Chancellor of Kern Community College District.
