Name: Gisely Carol Tafur Tapia
Country: Peru
Major: Environmental Science



Gisely arrived at Citrus in Summer 2025. Initially she was nervous as she had left her career in Peru behind to begin studying again, but the challenge was exciting. She worked as a Petrol Chemical Engineer in her home country and decided to switch gears and begin studying environmental science. She chose California for its focus on Sustainable Development Goals, which align with her goals. After Citrus, she hopes to complete advanced degrees in her field and develop a consulting business in her home country.  When asked for advice to future students, she said, “Don’t be afraid to start again.” Gisely is a great student and we are proud to have her as part of the ISC community!

ISC News

October has come to a close and the spooky season is settling into a holiday cheer. We enjoyed the ISC Halloween Party and the wonderful pumpkin carvings by our students and the Spooky Fest held by ASCC in the Campus Center, which featured excellent student performances. We also celebrated the 110th anniversary of the College at the Homecoming Game. It was a packed month and November will carry on with the Deck the ISC Halls event, Spring semester registration opens, and soon after we will host the ISC Holiday Karaoke Party.

Mark your calendars and prepare your holiday spirit! The Deck the ISC Halls event is back November 4th from 2PM-4PM! Stop by, decorate the ISC, and spread the Holiday joy with snacks and refreshments as we raise the ISC Christmas tree and transform the ISC lounge into a holiday wonderland full of cheer and joy for the Winter Season.

ISC Supervisor Retirement

After 31 years of serving the Citrus College community, the excellent ISC Supervisor, Coe Lamoureux, will begin his well-deserved retirement. In celebration of this milestone, the ISC is hosting a retirement party on Thursday, December 4 at 1PM. We will celebrate Coe’s storied career with lunch, refreshments, and a Christmas karaoke party following afterward. Congratulations, Coe! Citrus College was lucky you have you.
