Supawadee came to Citrus to learn English, improve her language skills, and pursue a career in Computer Science. She is a new student this semester and chose Citrus because of the helpful staff and counseling in the ISC and the beautiful campus. When asked why she wants to study in the U.S., she said, “The U.S. has some of the best education in the world.” Supawadee is excited to learn new things at Citrus and return home and use her skills on exciting projects in her home country.

ISC News

The autumn season is upon us and with it comes the spooky season followed by cozy holiday vibes. Stop by the ISC each month to see the transformations of the lounge. Additionally, there are several events on campus this month! New art will be on display during the “Office Hours” gallery in the Art Gallery. Opening reception is on October 1 from 11AM-1PM in VA120. The “Office Hours” display will include artworks from Faculty and Staff, including our very own Dean of Enrollment Services, Dr. Gerald Sequeira. The ISC Counselor, Anthony Giammalva, is also hosting an International Student Ally Training event on October 2nd at 2PM in SS165.

Disney College Program

One of our wonderful international students and NIC alumna, Mako Nishino, has been admitted to the Disney College Program! The amazing opportunity allows participants to work full-time in an immersive “Living, Learning, and Earning” experience. She learned about the program from a friend that had completed it and loved the idea. She loves Disney and believes this opportunity will allow her to develop customer service skills necessary for her plans to become a flight attendant. The program places participants in either the California or Florida parks. Mako is excited for either, but will miss California if she is placed at Disney World. Congratulations!
