Rui found Citrus College through a Google search while looking for schools that offered a nursing program. She likes to help people and wants to work at a non-profit in the future. She chose Citrus for its long academic history, great transfer opportunities, and its friendly atmosphere.
Additionally, Rui plans on transferring to University of California, Irvine (UCI) and with Citrus College being the number one in transfer to UC schools for three of the past four years, choosing Citrus was an easy decision to make for her education. When asked why she wanted to study in the U.S., Rui said, “The U.S. has the best education in the world.”

At the 62nd Annual Achievement Awards on May 22, 2025, seven International Students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance. Hina Furuyama received the Key of Knowledge and Emad Abouhessein, Kai Sheng Chan, Lucha De, Afrouz Rahmati, Hamin Song, and Jiyun Yun were all recognized for Student Achievement in their respective departments. It was a joyous evening of accolades and entertainment. We are so proud of all our students for the hard work that led to their recognition of excellence. Congratulations and Go Owls!

Owls Got Talent
Owls Got Talent was a resounding success, lighting up the Little Theater with unforgettable performances. Students showcased an incredible range of talents, from soulful singing to amazing dance routines that had the audience captivated. We are incredibly proud of the students who organized the event with such professionalism and passion. Their dedication turned the afternoon into a celebration of creativity, community, and student excellence. We can’t wait for the next show!
