Mako is one of our excellent NIC students that has made a home at Citrus. She learned about Citrus through the counseling team at NIC Osaka and chose Citrus for our location, weather, and the diverse population. “It’s so different from Japan,” she said when asked about her decision. Mako is extremely active on campus and has a demanding schedule. She has performed multiple times in school sponsored events and even travelled to Las Vegas to perform with the Citrus College group “Night Shift”. She even founded a dance club! Mako is truly making the most of it here at Citrus! We are proud to have her as one of our international students! Go owls!

ISC News
The news school year has begun! We are so excited to welcome all the new and returning students to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope everyone is settling into their new schedules and getting a great start to the year! We’ve been very busy in the ISC. We held the annual ISC Beach Trip in August, which had a great turnout and was excellent fun for everyone. ISC Counselor, Anthony Giammalva, visited his alma mater, Damien High School, to speak with international students about Citrus. Additionally, Mr. Coe will be visiting Japan this month! See if you can catch him at NIC Tokyo, Chiba, Osaka, or Sendai!
La Verne LA Metro Station!
The La Verne/Fairplex station on the Metro A Line is opening! One of four new stops, it sits across the street from the ULV dorms and connects riders between Citrus College and ULV in just two stops, making ULV a quick and convenient commute. With the $7 GoPass fee, Citrus students can ride trains and buses unlimited for free. The station is in final testing and set to open September 19, 2025, giving students and residents direct access to the Metro system and greater LA area!
